We are on social media so you can stay up to date on news, ask questions, make suggestions, post pictures and express your opinion on Diaverum-related topics. Our social media presence includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
We manage our social-media activity ourselves. If you send us a private or direct message via social media, it will be stored by us until we respond to your query or the issue is closed. It will not be shared with any other organisation.
We can access all your social media interactions with Diaverum and decide how we manage it. For example, if you send a message via social media that needs a response from us, we may process it as an enquiry or a complaint, and manage it accordingly.
When contacting Diaverum through a social media platform, we suggest that you also familiarise yourself with the privacy information of that platform.
Social media operators
Operators of social networks can generally analyse user behaviour if you visit their platform directly or if you visit a third party website with their social media e.g. like buttons or banner ads. When you visit Diaverum’s social media pages, your personal data will also be processed by social media operators.
If you are logged in to your social media account and visit our social media page, the operator can log this visit to your user account. Your personal data can also be recorded even if you are not logged in or do not have an account. The data collected in this case could be via cookies stored on your device or by registering your IP address.
This means that the social media operators can create user profiles with preferences and interests, e.g. to show interest-based advertising inside and outside of your social media presence. Interest-based advertising can be displayed on any device you are logged in to or have logged in to.
Please also note that we are not in control of all processing operations on the social media platforms. Depending on the provider, the operators could carry out additional processing of the data. Details can be found in the terms of use and privacy policy of the respective social media platforms.
Legal basis
Diaverum’s presence in social media ensures a broader presence on the Internet. Our processing of personal data in these social media is within our legitimate interests as a business, to enable interaction with the various stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
The processing of personal data by the social network operators can be based on various legal bases, specified separately by these operators (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
Our Responsibility and Your Rights
When you visit one of our profiles in social media, we, together with the platform operator, are responsible for the data processing. You can exercise your rights (information, correction, and deletion, limitation of processing, data portability and complaint) with us at Diaverum as well as with the social media operator.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint to the official data protection authority of your choice.
We do not have full influence on the data processing made by the social media operators. Our options are determined by the company policy of the respective provider.
Storage Time
The data collected directly from us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose is no longer valid, or when you ask us to delete it, or if you withdraw your consent. Cookies can remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
We have no control over how long the social network operators store the personal data for their own purposes. For details, please refer to the social network operators’ privacy policies.
